Or are modern day kids so incredibly spoiled it's not funny. I guess my parents were a bit more older fashioned in a sense that if I called my mom a bitch, my dad would beat the shit out of me, and I didn't get every $500 toy that I wanted. Hell, I had to pay for half the costs of my upcoming AP exams.
Maybe it's just kids in my area, or rebelling against the people that take care of you is the cool thing on MTV. Someone give me some insight.

I predict this as the downfall of modern society.

I'm definitely not spoiled. I do have it better than some, but not so much that I completely depend on my parents for stuff.

Yeah, its pretty much the same for me. My parents are the kind that slammed responsibility on me when I hit high school. I just got my job, as they aren't going to buy me a car.

Am not spoiled at all. I know about 90% of my friends will just get a car from there parents. But I have been saving up for a while. And am about to get a job during the summer to pay for the car.

For example my good friend travis. Hes going to get a mustang when he turns 16. Doesn't have to do shit for it. Me on the other hand I have to get a job and have been saving up for a while.

it's kinda lame how all of these people in my highschool NEED their ipod or cellphone. i find it funny because if their cell phone or some other expensive gadget isn't with them it's all they talk about.

compared to most of the kids in my area + school i'm nowhere near spoiled.
i get something fancy once a year. then i get some clothes every so often :p

I get my parents help on SOME things. But on pure luxury items, ie, a psp and ipod, I have to pay them myself. I get money from my parents whenever I'm looking into something that can actually help me, ie, an expensive text book, a desk, etc. I don't think I'm really spoiled, but my fucking cousins are. My cousin (who is 16) has stepped on, dropped, and managed to fuck up 5 ipods, yes I said 5. She brakes them, and then has her parents buy her new ones. She doesnt have a job, hasn't even considered it. That's a spoiled person

I know parents are different, but when did society become such pussies about punishing kids. I'm thankful my dad used force on me when I was a 10 year old dipshit know-it-all to him. However, it seems like the model parent won't even give their daughter a slap on the wrist, because even that might hurt the poor child.

I also see kids at school get a brand new car, total it 3 days later and get another car. Even if the parents are rich, the kid should be punched in the face for being a dumbass. I have to pay for my own car, and if I total that, then I better get used to distance walking.
