Meh, I think that this is a bit too far fetched. |

Rare things happen in the universe all of the time. It's not far fetched at all. |

I partly agree with that, but it still isn't really logical to me why everything that *could* happen will certainly happen. I don't really know how to explain it, but I think that the occurrence of rare things doesn't really suffice to explain that there is some kind of "plan" beyond everything that happens in the universe |

I don't believe I mentioned predestination or a plan. Check over what was said again. |

If there's a purpose in life, all animals alike share the same purpose. Like Jane Goodall said "There isn't a sharp line dividing humans from the rest of the animal kingdom. It's a very wuzzy line. It's a very wuzzy line and it's getting wuzzier all the time time time time time. We find animals doing things that we, in our arrogance, used to think was just human. It's a very wuzzy line and it's getting wuzzier all the time." Or something like that, I dunno I heard it in a song.
Anyway, we're really close to primates, and if you say we share the same purpose as animals, maybe we share the same purpose as all organisms. Some things function based solely on instinct, where they're programmed like a robot, hardwired to eat, fuck, and kill if they have to. Sucks thinking about it that way, but that'd mean our "purpose" is to eat, fuck, and kill. Maybe evolution is our purpose, and we're meant to evolve until we're smart enough to realize a purpose OH MY GOD I BLEW MY MIND |

| I feel that the purpose of life can not be said because nothing in life is predetermined. There is no such thing as fate. The choices we make may alter different occasions that can occur but it doesn't mean that it was predetermined or that we have a purpose in this world. |

What does it matter if we are alive or dead? If we ruin this planet and kill all the animals on it, it doesn't matter. We can even thrive and prosper, but that isn't going to stop the sun from burning out. We can create a purpose in our minds and put it into effect, but the fact is the only thing people strive for is a long healthy life, and to have our human race continue for eternity. A healthy life is achievable, however our kin will all perish and life will die out on this planet eventually.
We will all be forgotten and eventually this planet will cease to exist, it is inevitable. |

Pascal said something along the lines of, without God life is just the creation of obstacles and the overcoming of them in order to keep ourselves from remembering there is no purpose.
Personally, I think the purpose of life is the pursuit of God. Even if you don't believe in Him, even if He doesn't exist. |

"There is nothing. There is no God and no universe, there is only empty space, and in it a lost and homeless and wandering and companionless and indestructible Thought. And I am that thought. And God, and the Universe, and Time, and Life, and Death, and Joy and Sorrow and Pain only a grotesque and brutal dream, evolved from the frantic imagination of that same Thought."
Mark Twain |

| The meaning in life is what you make it. Experience is subjective. There can't be objective 'meaning' in a purely observational context. Life is subjective and the emotion of 'meaning' is subjective. |
